Jemma is a co-director and improviser on vocals with minimalist improv group Emergence Collective, who feature a revolving line-up and a vibrant mix of non-electronic ancient and modern instruments. Performances are usually in unconventional spaces, which have included a disused cinema's fly tower (Abbeydale Picturehouse), cathedrals, a Tudor house (Bishops House), a chapel in a cemetery (The Samuel Worth Chapel), an abandoned warehouse and an art gallery (20-21 visual arts Jenny Holzer exhibition). The collective have been featured in The Queitus and The Wire, plus a review by The Guardian.

" Beautifully subtle yet hypnotic performance of stripped back improvised minimalism"
